Vietnam produces 24.7Mt of cement in Jan-May

Cement producers in Vietnam are estimated to have made 24.7Mt of cement in the first five months of this year.

The figure represents a YoY increase of US$13.9%, the government’s General Statistics Office said in a monthly reported released late Wednesday.

In May, the country’s cement output is estimated to stand at 5.8Mt, up 19.1% YoY.

The Ministry of Construction forecast Vietnam’s cement consumption is forecast to stand between 54.5Mt and 56Mt this year, up 9%-10% from a year earlier.
