European construction output falls in Feb

Construction in the 17-member euro region slipped 0.7 percent from January, when it advanced a revised 3.6 percent, the European Union’s statistics office in Luxembourg said today. From a year earlier, output rose 3.5 per cent.

In France, the region’s second-largest economy, output fell 0.1 per cent from January, when it surged 14 percent, today’s report showed. Slovenian output fell 7.9 per cent. German production advanced 3.4 per cent after jumping 35 per cent in January. In the 27-member European Union, construction rose 0.7 per cent from January.
