Cemex UK has ordered 15 new Caterpillar machines for its UK quarry network.

The order placed with Cat distributor Finning is for seven wheel loaders, six hydraulic excavators, a Cat 735 articulated dump truck and a Cat D6N LGP track-type tractor.

The wheel loader order is comprised of three 966H models, and two each of the 962H and 972H. The hydraulic excavators three Cat 345DL models, two of the 336DL and a 365CL.

Cemex UK projects negotiator Jon Gray said: “This is a significant purchase and one that has seen us work very closely with Finning to analyse our needs and secure the right equipment for our site operations, at a competitive whole life cost, with the right backup”.

Finning Strategic account manager Robert Powell, said: “We have worked hard with Cemex UK to understand the business, its operations and to share best practice with the team across the UK. By being able to provide them with information on fleet performance, servicing and maintenance, in addition to operator Eco-Drive training, we have been able to show the true value of working with Finning and Caterpillar equipment.”
