Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the United States and Puerto Rico for December 2010 were 4.2Mt. This was 8% higher than shipments in December 2009.

Full year shipments were 70.1Mt, down slightly from those of 2009. The leading producing States (Texas, California, Missouri, Florida, and Alabama, in descending order) shipped 48% of the December total. The leading consuming States (Texas, California, Florida, Louisiana, and Ohio, in descending order) received about 44% of the December total shipments.
 
Clinker production totaled 3.4Mt in December, about 27% higher than production in December 2009 (table 4). Production for the full year totaled 60.4 Mt, up by nearly 6% from that of 2009. The leading clinker-producing States (Texas, California, Florida, Kansas, and Indiana, in descending order) produced about 49% of the December total.

 December 2010 imports of cement and clinker of about 482,000t were about 58% higher than imports in December 2009. Imports for 2010 overall totaled 6.8 Mt, down by about 2% from those in 2009.
