Vietnam Cement sales at 50.21Mt in 2010

Vietnam’s cement sales stood at 50.21Mt in 2010, fulfilling 100% of the sector’s whole-year target.

In December, the country used 5.08Mt of cement, the Ministry of Construction said on its website Dec 31 but giving no exact comparison.

The Southeast Asian nation imported 2.12Mt of clinker and exported about 1.2Mt of clinker and cement in 2010.

Cement production was 5.12Mt in December, raising the full-year output to 50.85Mt and surpassing 1.7% of the full-year target.

The country’s cement consumption is forecast between 54.5Mt and 56Mt in 2011.
