AUCBM success in Ras Al Khaimah

AUCBM success in Ras Al Khaimah
08 December 2010

The 16th international Arab Union conference and exhibition (AUCBM) is now well underway at the Ras Al Khaimah Conference and Exhibition Centre, UAE.

With over 700 participants, some 50 technical presentations and a 150 stand exhibition stands, this event is seen as the leading event specifically tailored for the Arab cement and building materials sector, as well as attracting many specialists within the international equipment and service sectors.

Gracing the official opening was the ruler of the Emirate of Ras al Khaimah, His Royal Highness: Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, while the overall conference success is once again down to the indefatigable Eng Ahmad Al Rousan, secretary general of the AUCBM and his dedicated team, led by Suha Canaan.

This year, the theme of the conference has been essentially a review of technical advances in the cement industry, with particular emphasis on processing, kiln burning, alternative fuels and cost savings.

Off duty, participants have been treated to a gala dinner in the nearby Ras Al Khaimah hotel, while those lucky enough to stay at the nearby Hilton Resort have enjoyed some delightful hospitality under endless blue skies and winter sun. We are already looking forward to next year’s event, which is scheduled for Amman, Jordan in November 2011.
