Cement manufacturers have hiked prices of the commodity by 10 rupees per 50kg in Uttar Pradesh from Tuesday, dealers and stockists told  NewsWire18 today.

In Delhi, prices of the commodity have been hiked by INR5 per 50kg from today, they said.

"These price hikes are probably an attempt to offset any likely fall in prices due to sluggish construction activity amid severe winter in north India hereon," said a Delhi-based cement stockist while highlighting that these hikes are not likely to sustain.

With these hikes, retail prices of cement in Uttar Pradesh are around INR240 per bag (1 bag = 50 kg), while prices
