Logistics company Wincanton has won a £50m five-year contract with Lafarge Plasterboard
to operate the French firm’s UK transport network, reports Reuters.

The new contract builds on Wincanton’s existing relationship with Lafarge in Germany, and a previous contract for its roofing division in the UK, said the British company.

"Wincanton is set to benefit from changes in the construction sector as greater emphasis is being placed on outsourcing supply chain services," according to a statement Monday.

Its specialist construction division has total new business of £155m for the year plus £50m from the renewal of long term contracts with existing customers.
