Brazil’s domestic cement sales fell 1.7% in January compared with the same month last year to 3.94Mt, according to figures out Monday from the National Cement Industry Association (Snic).

Per working day there was a 0.4% increase compared with January 2008 and a reduction of 3.4% compared with December 2008.

Over the 12 months through January, there was a 12.6% increase in sales to 51.023Mt.
