Lafarge expects a 15-20 per cent rise in Romanian cement market

Lafarge expects a 15-20 per cent rise in the cement market in 2008, said Philippe Questiaux, general manager of  LafargeCement Romania.  
 
Questiaux also estimates a rise in the sales of  LafargeCement, in step with the growth in the market.  
 
For LafargeCement Romania, 2007 was an exceptional year, with a 30 per cent increase in the market, from 2006. The rise was reflected in the sales of the French group in Romania.  
 
Questiaux said that the total volume of cement sold in 2007 in Romania stood at almost 10Mt.  
 
Lafarge Romania announced for 2007 a turnover of EUR400m, for all the three divisions it is present in Romania with, (ie cement, aggregates and concrete, gypsum), up over 40 per cent from 2006, when EUR280m in turnover were posted.
