Taiwan Cement to continue expansion in China
Taiwan Cement Corp will continue expansion in China, with the company’s chairman Koo Cheng-yun expecting the country’s cement market to enjoy strong growth until 2020, local news reported.
Taiwan Cement’s annual capacity in China is slated to reach 25Mt by end-2008 before rising further to 50Mt in 2012, the report said.
Separately, the daily quoted Taiwan Cement’s senior vice president Edward Huang as saying that the company is seeking government approval to raise cement prices in Taiwan due to higher costs. Some importers have decided to raise cement sales price in Taiwan by 11.6 per cent from next month. Published under Cement News
