AIC expects decision on construction of a new cement plant

Lafarge has completed the raw material study in the provinces of Tovuz and Gazakh in Azerbaijan and is summarising the findings currently, says the deputy executive director of AIC Riyad Gasimov.  AIC expects  Lafarge to a conclusion until the end of this month, according to Mr Gasimov.  
 
The representatives of  Lafarge once visited Azerbaijan in early March to check the Azeri cement market as well as the raw material sources.  
 
Lafarge may build a second cement plant in the country to produce 1Mta of cement. The project costs are estimated in the region of EUR100-150m. AIC says it wil cover 20-30% of the total, plus Lafarge it is negotiating the involvement of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. 
 
The feasibility study of the report should be completed within two months.
