New order for Gebr Pfeiffer, Romania

New order for Gebr Pfeiffer, Romania
14 September 2006

Gebr. Pfeiffer AG, together with KHD, Cologne, and ABB, Baden/ Switzerland, recently won a contract from Holcim (Romania) S.A. to supply a complete grinding plant for 380tph of cement raw material. The grinding plant will feature an MPS 5000 B vertical roller mill. Fitted with a 3200kW drive, the mill will be capable of grinding 380tph of raw material to a fineness of 15 per cent R0.090mm.

In addition to the mill, complete with ancillary equipment, Gebr. Pfeiffer AG is to supply material metering systems, which are to be fitted under the existing feed silos, conveying equipment for taking the raw meal to the mill, cyclone collectors, a mill fan with drive, ductwork with control flaps and dust collection filters.

Holcim is already using MPS 4250 BC cement mills at the Ecuador-based Latacunga works and at the Merone works in Italy so the group’s decision to order an MPS 5000 B raw mill for its Campulung works is further testament to Holcim’s satisfaction with Pfeiffer vertical roller mills.
