The largest ever cement plant of the nation is projected to come on stream in the second half of the current Iranian year. The factory, based in Saveh, Markazi (Central) Arak, is 83 per cent complete and enjoys a cement production capacity of 7500tpd

Financed by the Oil Stabilization Fund (OSF) and investors which are valued at $244.4m, the factory is being constructed on a land area as large as 400 hectares.

The factory is established in line with creating employment opportunities and exploiting the lime-rich mines in Saveh region. Upon completion, this industrial unit will be able to employ 600 domestic engineers, technicians, and unskilled workers directly as well as 3000 ones indirectly.

The largest gray cement production plant will be capable of meeting the demands of the Markazi (Central) and Qom provinces and some parts of Tehran Province as well.
