New Iranian plant begins construction

Construction operations of the largest cement production project in western Iran started in the northwestern city of Mahidasht in Kermanshah Province, in the presence of a number of regional officials.  According to local reports, the plant’s nominal production capacity is expected to be 8000tpd.

Saman Gharb Cement Plant, consists of two independent units each producing 3500tpd of clinker, Javad Modallal, the project manager noted. The plant will produce types I, II, and V cement plus pozzolan-Portland cement mixture, the project manager added. He further explained that upon completion of the plant, cement production in the province would hit 4Mta, being equal to about six per cent of the country’s cement production totals.
