Cemex to shed 750 British jobs
22 June 2005

Cemex is to cut 750 British jobs just three months after formally taking over RMC - the UK-based cement and rmc producer. The job losses represent about 10 per cent of RMC’s workforce and are mainly in middle management and IT. The UK losses are part of a wider cost-cutting programme by Cemex, which expects to shed about 2000 jobs in RMC across Europe. The company expects the restructuring to reduce costs by about US$360m by 2007.   Published under Cement News
