UAE based Union Cement has signed a US$136.2m deal with China Building Material Equipment to build a new clinker facility in Ras Al Khaimah. The kiln is set to be the largest in the UAE and will take UC’s capacity to more than 4.5Mta of cement. Demand for cement has rocketed in the UAE with several large scale developments being built simultaneously.
