Chilean cement manufacturer Cementos Melon, owned by Lafarge, has been given 30 days to file an appeal with the ministerial council of the national environment agency Conama in the hope it will overturn the decision taken by the regional environmental authority Corema of Region V. Earlier this month, Corema rejected a proposal by the cement company to use petcoke at is La Calera works.
