The quarries of Cienfuegos province, Cuba, have reserves for some 150 years and thus ensure the continued operation for the Karl Marx cement plant, the country’s largest cement producer, according to ACN, the Cuban news agency.

There are currently four quarries in operation, producing limestone, marl, zeolites and pellets. They are extracting around 500tph of rock, although they are affected by spare part shortages, caused by lack of funding, which impacts six loaders.
