Vietnam: Dong Lam Cement to build US$221m plant

Dong Lam Cement JSC will invest VND4.7trn (US$221m) on a new plant in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

The Dong Lam cement plant in Phong Dien district currently has a clinker and cement capacity of 5000tpd and 2Mta, respectively.

The company plans to sell its product in the central region to meet rising demand of cement there. At present, Vietnam’s cement output has reached 73Mta.

The country’s cement sales are predicted to rise by 1.5-3 per cent YoY to 62-63Mt this year, including 48.5-49Mta of domestic sales and 13.5-14Mt of exports.
