Holcim Philippines considers capacity increase
18 May 2018

Holcim Philippines Inc has earmarked PHP2.4bn (US$45.86m) for capital outlays this year, with projects to further increase capacity being considered, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The company will prioritise operational improvements, tighter cost management and new building solutions to benefit from and support the strengthening construction activity in the country, said John Stull, president and CEO of Holcim Philippines.

"Last year, we started projects to raise cement production capacity nationwide to 12 million metric tons by 2019. While these projects have just started, we are already considering more investments to raise clinker capacity given the positive projections for the construction industry," said Mr Stull.

John Stull also stated that the company would boost its equipment maintenance programmes, while continuing to streamline logistics systems.
