Kwanza Sul to increase output to 1.05Mta

From 2020 Fábrica de Cimento do Kwanza-Sul (FCKS) plans to increase production at its Sumbe plant in Angola to 70 per cent of its 1.5Mta cement capacity, according to its Director of Human Resources and Administration, Joaquim Manuel. Angolan government to sell stakes in state cement companies

A report by Díario da Republica confirms that the Angolan government is to sell stakes in several state companies including cement plants to finance projects for the economic and social development of Angola. The government is selling 175 companies by public tender, 11 by auction and nine by initial public offering with 80 sales in 2019 and 90 in 2020. Luanda cement plant resumes production after HFO shortage

China International Fund (CIF) has resumed production of its Luanda cement plant after four months of non-acitivity, because of the heavy fuel oil (HFO) shortage in the country. Sonangol, Angola’s national fuel company, denied Friday that it had suspended oil supplies at the Fabrica de Cimento do Kwanza Sul (FCKS). Fuel shortage causes cement plant to halt production

Fábrica de Cimento do Kwanza Sul SA ( FCKS) in the Cuanza Sul Province of Angola was forced to stop production on Wednesday after a significant lack of HFO.  According to local reports, Edmundo Ferreira, the operational manager of the plant, confirmed that the plant will resume production as soon as the fuel issue is resolved. The plant requires 400,000l of fuel to achieve its daily production capacity of 4200t.

Nova Cimangola’s new clinker line enters service

Nova Cimangola has inaugurated its new 2Mta clinker line in Cacuaco, enabling the country to become self-sufficient in clinker production. The expansion raises the capacity of the plant, which sits on an 687ha site, to 3.8Mta. The project represents an investment of US$300m. Around 220 new jobs were created for the operation of the works with 85 per cent filled by local people.
