Pakistan's listed cement sector reported record earnings of PKR22.4bn (US$58.18m), up eight per cent YoY in the 2QFY23-24. This earnings growth is primarily due to higher gross margins and other income. Cement prices across Pakistan have risen over recent weeks, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. JK Lakshmi Cement halts production at its Durg plant

India’s JK Lakshmi Cement has suspended production at its 2.7Mta Durg plant in Chhattisgarh, due to a strike called by the state’s Cement Transport Association. Dispatches from the facility, which were substantially reduced from 19 September, have now been completely stopped, according to the company. However, industry-wide negotiations are being held with the state government and the company is hopeful of an amicable solution soon.

Pakistan's local and export dispatches during September 2021 remained depressed, reports All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
