Holcim Belgique is closing five ready-mixed concrete plants in Flanders, a move that will affect around 60 employees. The works being closed are at Furness, Ostend, Bruges, Izegem and Herentals. Lafarge Cement Zambia, which has a combined capacity of 1.4Mta from its two works, is to quadruple its exports to Congo and from Malawi. Holcim to reorganise Obourg, Belgium

Holcim Belgique announced its plans to adapt the organisational structure of its Obourg cement works near Mons, a step which would affect 48 jobs. The company attributes the reorganisation to the significant fall in Dutch cement consumption and a slowdown in French cement demand. Holcim Belgique to close Haccourt facility

Holcim Belgique announced it will close its Haccourt cement grinding plant, near Liège, Belgium. The unit currently employs 43 people. This project is part of a reorganisation of Holcim’s European industrial base announced earlier this week.
