Sinoma to build new clinker line in Belgium

Sinoma International Engineering has won a EUR218m (US$238m) contract with Holcim to build a 1.68Mta clinker cement production line in Belgium. The contract covers engineering design, mechanical and electrical equipment, steel structure procurement, supply and installation, production commissioning, technical services, and other aspects, the Beijing-based firm said yesterday. East Africa Portland Cement Co announces new clinker line project

East Africa Portland Cement Co   (EAPCC) is planning a KES30.53bn (US$200m) clinker line in Kajiado county, Kenya. The plant, which will have a clinker capacity of approximately 5000tpa, will be located on a 300-acre greenfield site. The EU Innovation Fund has chosen to co-finance Heracles Group ’s ( Holcim ) Olympus CO 2  capture project. The Olympus project aims to transform Heracles Group’s plant in Milaki , Greece, into a zero carbon cement plant through the use of innovative carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies.
