Two of Japan’s leading cement producers are expected to post higher first-quarter profit supported by cement demand for earthquake rebuilding efforts. Japanese cement producer Sumitomo Osaka Cement Co will increase cement capacity in China's Yunnan Province by 2016 through the construction of new facilities. Japan’s leading cement producer, Taiheiyo Cement Corp, is expected to have posted a 70 per cent YoY rise in pretax profit for the fiscal year to the end of March 2013. Japanese cement producer Ube Industries is to develop a limestone mine in Yamaguchi Prefecture to prepare for further expected increases in cement demand.
