LafargeHolcim Maroc appoints new Chairman of the Board

Lafargeholcim Maroc has appointed Ali Fassi Fihri, former chief executive of the National Office for Drininking Water and Electricity (ONEE), to chairman of the board. Mr Fihri, who was dismissed from ONEE by King Mohammed VI in October 2017, now replaces Tarafa Maraouane, who resigned from his position.

Fives FCB completes kiln and tyre replacement at Val d'Azergues plant

Fives FCB has successfully completed the kiln shell replacement at LafargeHolcim's Val d'Azergues plant, France. LafargeHolcim previouly signed an agreement with Fives FCB in 2018 for the replacement of 9m section of its kiln shell at the Val d’Azergues plant, including the replacement of one tyre, roller and seal.

LafargeHolcim acquires Colorado River Concrete

LafargeHolcim has completed its second US acquisition of 2019, adding Texas-based Colorado River Concrete to its list of ready-mix producers. The company serves customers in the southwestern Dallas/Fort Worth area and parts of west Texas. The new deal follows the acquisition of Transit Mix Concrete Co on 1 February this year.

LafargeHolcim Russia appointed M Goncharov as the new CEO of the company on 1 March 2019. G Brusco, the former chief executive, has been transferred to the group’s corporate office in Switzerland, according to AK&M. Meanwhile, E Molodtsova was affirmed as the commercial director.

LafargeHolcim has announced that its net sales increased 5.1 per cent on a like-for-like basis to CHF27,466m (US$27,344m) for 2018. Recurring EBITDA finished at CHF6016m, up 3.6 per cent like-for-like for the full-year period, after a positive performance by the company’s cement, aggregates and ready-mix concrete segments. LafargeHolcim Algérie loads its first white cement shipment onboard for export LafargeHolcim Algérie has carried out its first exports of white cement from Oran, Algeria, to South Africa. A consignment of 10,000t of “Super White” cement, produced in the company’s Oggaz plant, was shipped to Cape Town. The shipment is part of the company’s export programme, launched in 2018. In the run-up to 2021, LafargeHolcim expects to export 10Mt of grey cement clinker to west Africa.
