LafargeHolcim Côte d'Ivoire has released a new poduct called Bélier SuperBric cement, which the company claims allows quick drying of bricks in just 24 hours. Halving the time usually required to dry bricks and with a strength of 52.5N, SuperBric is the strongest cement in the country. PT Lafarge Cement Indonesia, (LafargeHolcim) is likely to face a hefty environmental clear up bill after a barge spilt 700t of coal off the Sumatra coast, polluting beaches, damaging coral and impacting marine life. The incident occurred on July 30, when the barge, reportedly carrying coal to the Aceh cement factory,  was hit by high waves just 100m (330ft) off Lampuuk Beach in Aceh Besar district, on the northern tip of Sumatra.

LafargeHolcim's 2Q18 revenues rise by 6.2%

LafargeHolcim's revenue grew 6.2 per cent in the 2Q18, with total net sales of CHF7442m (US$7468m). For the first six months net sales grew 4.8 per cent on a like-for-like basis. LafargeHolcim France is installing a new blending facility at its Dunkerque Nord grinding plant to increase the unit’s capacity.
