Cement companies based in Andhra Pradesh, India, have decided to reduce cement prices for government projects following a request from the state’s Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Following claims of price hikes, Malaysia’s Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry has investigated cement prices and found no price hikes at the manufacturing level. UltraTech Cement reduces cement price in Jammu and Kashmir

India’s UltraTech Cement has reduced the price of cement in Jammu and Kashmir following the abolition of a toll tax in Lakhanpur, according to the region’s Department of Information and Public Relations. As a result, the price is reportedly decreasing to INR380/bag (US$5.29) from INR445/bag. The goods toll, previously being enforced under the Jammu and Kashmir Levy of Tolls Act 1995, has ceased to operate with effect from 1 January 2020.

Cement prices are fluctuating in Pakistan

All-India cement prices have reportedly fallen two per cent MoM in November on the back of reduced demand, according to Centrum Broking. The all-India average cement price in October-November was around INR303/50kg bag (US$4.23/50kg bag), down from around INR309 in the July-September quarter and a considerable decline from around INR360 in the 1QFY19-20.
