Almalyk MMC commissions 1.5Mta plant

Uzbekistan's Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (MMC) has commissioned its 1.5Mta Sherabad cement plant based in Vandob, Surkhandarya. The US$212.8m project was carried out by DAL Teknik Makina on a turnkey basis. The cement produced will be fundamental to meet the demand in the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, while Almalyk MMC also plans to export cement in the future.

Bamburi Cement completes construction of grinding plant

Kenya’s Bamburi Cement has announced that construction of its 0.9Mta grinding plant at Athi River, south of Nairobi, has been completed. The facility represents a KES4bn (US$39.62m) investment and is part of the company’s expansion plan launched in 2015. UltraTech commissions second grinding unit in Dhar

India’s UltraTech Cement has commissioned its second 1.75Mta grinding facility at Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, with the first entering operation in April 2018. The new plant increases the company’s total manufacturing capacity to 92.5Mta and with further ongoing expansion projects this is expected to rise to 96.5Mta in the future.

Attock Cement Pakistan Ltd (ACPL) has started operations at its new 1.2Mta production line at Hub, Balochistan. Kazakhstan: Rudny cement plant online in 2017

Rudny Cement Factory LLP is scheduled for commissioning in Rudny, Kostanai region, later this year, according to the town’s mayor, Bakytzhan Gayazov. The 0.5Mta plant represents an investment of KZT14.8bn (US$46.4m). The construction of the plant had been put on hold and resumed multiple times since 2010 due to lack of financing.
