In Mexico, as elsewhere in the world, waste separation centres have different manual and mechanical processes to separate refuse into different products. PET, aluminium, metals and glass, and other materials which are economically viable to recycle, are sent to specific facilities for recycling. Organic fermentable matter can be used to produce compost or biogas.
