Following a major overhaul at its plant in Salalah, Oman, Raysut Cement is in good shape to further expand its business internationally. ICR speaks with Joey Ghose, the company’s CEO, about Raysut’s recent capital investments and its plans to gain additional market share both at home and abroad.

ICR: When was Raysut Cement Co established and what is the extent of the company’s activities in Oman today?
Joey Ghose (JG): Raysut Cement Co was established in 1981 by virtue of the Ministerial Decree No 7/81, and was registered as an Omani joint stock company in Salalah, Oman. The company started commercial production in 1984 and the factory was officially inaugurated on 17 November 1985, on Oman’s 15th National Day.
