Calcined clay cements: a Brazilian case study

Cements made with calcined clay have been receiving a great deal of attention as a sustainable way to reduce the CO2 emissions from cement production. As blastfurnace slag and fly ash availability is expected to decrease, calcined clay, with its global availability and known calcination technology, emerges as a favourable option for decarbonising the cement industry, particularly when the performance of calcined clay cements in concrete production is considered. by Silvia Vieira, Votorantim Cimentos, Brazil
