flame optimisation
Dear sir,
How to check whether the flame is optimised properly.I normally adjust the flame by adjusting the axial or swirl pipes or adjust the axial or swirl dampers. Do you think the flame will change effectvely by adjusting the axial, swirl pressure slightly say by increasing the pr from 190 mbar to say 200 mbar? The other question which is the correct burner pipe position ??Say some 50-100 mm inside the kiln or face to face with the tip of the kiln, Leaning slightly towards material side is good or placing it kiln axis is better?? How to adjust the flame to reduce sulphur/alkali concentration?Pl advice

That is the way to adjust the burner, with the axial and swirl air and the positioning of the burner. Every kiln is particular in this regard. Personally I prefer face to face with the nose of the kiln in line with the kiln axis, but for a particular kiln there may be reasons to diverge from that.

Use a tool to look at the flame and analyse the flame behaviour over the time in correlation to your process variables.
