Bulk density

Dear Sir,

Ideally what should be the order of bulk density of PPC, 53G and 43G cement.

In our plant we have this as 53G, 43G and PPC increasingly respectively as calibrated

by outer agency. Is it OK to be bd of 43G higher than 53G?

Re: Bulk density

I am surprised because I would have expected the 43G cement to contain more fly ash and for the fly ash to have a lower bulk density than clinker.

Re: Bulk density

Dear Mr. Clark,

I am sorry that i not substantiate my query thoroughly.

In our plant we never mix flyah in 43 G cement. 43G and 53G cements

are purely OPC, none is PPC. To differentiate between 53G and 43G

only one parameter is considered and that their fineness. 53G is more fine

than 43G. At our plant its value for 43G is between 280-300 m2/kg

while for 53G its value is 301-320 m2/kg.

My query was that being more finer 53G should be having more BD than 43G.

Is''nt that case?

Re: Bulk density

Dear Dasthagir,

As you said, more the fineness having high bd. Since its direcly prorportional to the reduction in volume for unit mass of the material.
