Re: what is Rosine Rammler ?

The Rosine Rammler's distribution curve helps to predict the product size after milling and grinding.It is a mathematical model to find out PSD .

Y = 1-EXP(-(Ln(X)/Ln(D))^q)
The distribution is described in terms of 2 parameters, D and q:
 - D is a representative diameter, commonly chosen such that 63.2% the
    total volume is contained in particles smaller than D.
 - The exponent q provides a measure of the spread of drop sizes. The
    higher the value of q, the more uniform the spray. If q is
    infinite the drops in the spray are all the same size. For typical
    sprays, the value of q is between 1.5 and 4.

Re: what is Rosine Rammler ?

The Rosin Rammler distribution is a way of characterising the particle size distribution of powders in the size range encountered in the cement industry. To find it you have to plot the natural logarithmn of the sieve grain size (90u, 45u, 32u etc.) against the double natural logarithmn of 100/residue at that grain size and find the slope and position parameter of the line of best fit. I recommend joining the CemNet Grinding & Milling on-line training course for more information.
