hello every one ,
i want know , why the white layer appears on the surface of the clinker in the open air storage yard , is there any effect on the clinker quality due to this layer?

Dear Azhar,
In the storage yard your clinker getting hydrolysed, leaving a white layer of Calcium hydroxide on the surface. This happens when clinker is stored for prolonged time in open storage yard.
Hydration of C3S and C2S , along with free lime bound to decrease your compressive strength. Though the hydration of free lime may reduce unsoundness in cement
