Hey Tad;

Thank you for your answer, you always have good answers help us in our operation ... But I think litre weight is a very important factor to be considered if you want to reach to your kiln production target. Although our kiln feed more than nominal, we couldn't reach to our daily production target. During last clinker drop test the average litre weight was 1120 gr/lt and as a result our kiln product was 200 tons less which forced us to reduce our (clinker/ kiln feed) factor.

As kiln camera is showing 70-90 % of the flame clearly, I can not say the kiln is dusty. Inlet O2 is more than 2.5%, and we don't have any problem with sulfur or alkali or coating. I agree with you that porous layer in clinker nodules reduces the density, so can I ask you again if there is any other reasons for this phenomena!!

Hello Nael,

In itself, the density of the clinker should not have any effect on the kiln throughput. The only things which will effect your clinker throughput are the quantities of inputs and outputs (ie. loss-free clinker = loss-free kiln feed + ash content of fuels and waste streams - loss-free bypass dust).

The only things that will change the clinker/kiln feed factor are either a change in the LOI of one or more of the inputs or outputs, or a change to any recirculating dust load in the kiln feed at the point where its rate is measured.
