You may read various methods ("The nature of Phosphogypsum Impurities & their influence on cement hydration" by Tabikh A.A. & Miller F.M.,Cem Concr Res 1,6;1971 ,663-78) including washing with water and neutralization with lime water have been suggested to modify the quality of Phosphogypsum so as to remove the impurities or reduce their level.It is clear that neutralization of the chemical gypsum takes care of only free acid impurities by making them inactive but does not change the state of lattice-bound impurities.

Quite right. This one is my artcile by this problem.
