re Tyre burning in the pyro system

Thank Sir,

Our kiln is supplied by IHI and fitted with flash furnace in the kiln riser and TAD is also connecting to this furnace from the side. Our kiln is a flared diameter kiln means inlet side diameter is more than the main kiln dia hence some slope is towards kiln inlet side also. So just to avoid the material spillage problem the kiln inlet seal when tyre will enter the material bed I made a little trial to check if it catches fire if introduced at the area where TAD has little flat area at its connection with the furnace. This trial was successful. For trial purpose we introduced the half cut tyre through inspection hole but in the coming shutdown we are planning to make proper duct arrangement so that the tyre will stay there for some time and its burning will take place in oxygen rich conditions so that CO formation will be avoided. Now the concern is to check the effects like cyclone blockage or the quantity of fuel saved.

Regards
