Girth gear near inlet pier

Dear All,

Can anyone give me some logical resons why girth gear drive mechanism always kept near 3rd pier of kiln not at  any other location. 3

I'm also curious same about the ball mill. why this drive mechanism at outlet side not at inlet side.
