Italcementi to make investments in Turkey

Carlo Pesenti, the CEO of Italcementi Group which is the world’s fifth biggest cement producer, said on Tuesday that their group intends to make new investments in Turkey.  Pesenti will arrive in Turkey Wednesday to meet Turkish businessmen.  
 
In a written statement Pesenti indicated that the Italcementi Group entered Turkish market in 1989 and realized a giant investment. ’’We are interested in new projects,’’ he indicated.  
 
The Italcementi Group, which is a leader in the Mediterranean with a production volume of 70 million tons of cement p.a., employs 20,000 people. Its turnover is 4.5 billion Euros, and has stakes in cement industries in 19 countries.  
 
It bought five cement factories in Turkey in 1989 within the scope of the privatization program, and produces 3.7 million tons of cement per year in Turkey. The group employs 825 people in Turkey, and the turnover of its factories here is EUR148m.   Published under Cement News
