A 19-year-old man was killed while working at Portland Cement Factory in Makata industrial area in Blantyre last week after being crushed by machinery. Steven Smart from Dambo Village, Nsanje, was working as a labourer at the cement company and was killed as he was during the morning shift. Police spokesman Willie Mwaluka said Smart entered the mill after it broke down to remove some materials for maintenance people to do repair work properly. He said the machine started functioning while Smart was still inside.
