In the past ten months of 2004, Maltsovsky Portlandcement, a major supplier of cement in Russia and Europe, made over 3Mt of cement, a 3 per cent boost year-on-year.   Last year the factory made over 3.5Mt of the total 41Mt output of the sector as a whole. It was among the first Russian businesses to be granted the Russian Quality mark, which certifies that its products are of top quality as established by a federal program of the same name. This year the Maltsovsky Portlandcement businesses have obtained Russian GOST R ISO 9001-2001 (ISO 9001:2000) quality management system certificates. Factory products go to over thirty Russian regions and are also exported.  

Eurocement, Russia’s biggest cement holding company, controls 20 per cent of the Russian and 60 per cent of the Moscow cement market. The company incorporates the Maltsovsky Portlandcement of the Bryansk region, Mikhailovcement of the Ryazan region, Lipetskcement of Lipetsk region, the Savinsky Cement Plant of the Arkhangelsk region, Katavsky Cement and Nevyansky Cementnik of the Chelyabinsk region, as well as concrete, asphalt concrete and mineral powder manufacturers, elevators and a transportation company.
