"Portland Composite cement has better characteristics than the ordinary Portland Cement," said HeidelbergCement Bangladesh Limited Managing Director Engineer Mark Van Kempen. He said this at a seminar organised for giving information to engineers about the Portland Composite Cement (Cem II).  For Bangladesh, Mark recommended Portland Composite Cement (Cem II). The rationale for suggesting the same is due to the fact that this kind of cement is used in building bridges and other commercial structures in coastal area and saline environment of Bangladesh.

PCC is extremely durable. Furthermore, the long-term strength is higher than the Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). Portland Composite Cement has 54 per cent market share in Europe. HeidelbergCement General Manager KM Zahid Uddin said his company has 130 years of global experience in cement, concrete and building products technology. HeidelbergCement has introduced Portland Composite Cement in Bangladesh to provide customers with added value.
