Holcim Romania invests EUR3.5m in factory in Turda, Romania
23 July 2004

The Holcim Romania cement maker has recently finalized modernization works with of a white-cement production line in its plant in Turda (central Romania). The investment amounts to EUR3.5m.

Getting the Turda line operational again happens only two months after the launch, at the factory of Alesd (western Romania), of the most modern grey-cement making line in Romania.

Holcim Romania managing director Kurt Habersatter thinks the upgrading of the Turda-based line is a logical step on the way the Swiss company started in 1997. The newly implemented technology will allow Holcim to meet and even to go beyond the customers’ expectations as the product meets the highest standards the European market imposes. The upgrading project for the white cement was one of the biggest challenges to the engineers team working in the Turda-based plant.

The white cement is a modern building material that can be widely used, namely from mortar and plasters of all sorts, concrete prefabricated elements, terrazzo mosaic and exposed concrete till rehabilitation and restoration works.

Holcim Romania is the only white cement maker on the Romanian market.
