Sources in the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Commerce estimate the cement consumption in Morocco to grow as high as 12.65Mt by 2008. The same sources attribute this cement consumption growth to the government¹s intention to boost public housing, tourism and infrastructure. The Moroccan cement production stood at 9.28Mt last year, an increase of 9.3 per cent compared with the previous year. The same sources estimate Morocco¹s cement production at 11.17Mt by the end of the current year, 12.07Mt in 2006 and 15.07Mt in 2008. Published under Cement News
