Dalmia Cement to set new plant

Dalmia Cements Bharat is to set up a brownfield cement manufacturing unit at Dalmiapuram, Tamil Nadu, at an approximated cost of Rs365 crore (US$80m). This is part of the company’s expansion project, according to a company notification. The manufacturing capacity would have an annual capacity of 1.6Mt. Dalmia Cement already has a 1.23Mt facility at Dalmiapuram. India Cement is however the major player in the Tamil Nadu market at present with a market share of 20 per cent.
