Cement production in Senegal in the first 10 months of 2016 increased 10.2 per cent YoY, according to the government’s Planning and Economic Research Unit.
Output at Sococim and Ciments du Sahel, which represent two out of three domestic producers, rose from 4,678,900t in 10M15 to 5,154,600t. The advance was mainly driven by a significant increase in exports, which were up 25.2 per cent from 1,902,800t in 10M15 to 2,382,300t one year later. Domestic sales edged up by 0.5 per cent YoY from 2,782,900t to 2,797,600t in the first nine months of 2016.
