Tajikistan reports 30% increase in exports

Tajikistan exported 1.1Mt of cement to neighbouring countries in the first 10 months of 2018, an increase of 30 per cent compared to the year-ago period, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT).

In the 10M18, the country exported 670,000t to Uzbekistan, 423,000t to Afghanistan and 80,000t to Kyrgyzstan. Tajik-Chinese joint ventures Chzhungtsai Mohir Cement, Huaxin Gayur Cement and Huaxin Gayur Sughd Cement reportedly accounted for 38.5 per cent, 32.6 per cent and 24.2 per cent of Tajikistan’s exports in the period, respectively.

Furthermore, average monthly volumes of cement exports have advanced 30.1 per cent YoY to 110,000t, compared to 84,200t of 10M17.

Production
In the first 10 months of the year, Tajikistan saw a 20 per cent YoY increase in cement production to 3.2Mt from 2.5Mt. Chzhungtsai Mohir Cement, Huaxin Gayur Cement, and Huaxin Gayur Sughd Cement accounted for 30.9 per cent, 28.1 per cent and 25.9 per cent of the local production in the 10M18, respectively, according to Asia-Plus.
